The fifth of five episodes in the Lead Story series, In this video Richard Trudgen looks at where lead comes from, explaining that it is a mineral (lead ore) that is extracted from particular rocks. It looks at places in the environment where lead is found including avgas, old paint and possible magpie geese and the dangers of getting lead poisoning from these. It also looks at how lead is processed and compares lead poisoning figures between Mt Isa and Arnhem Land.
